Paul "Old Goat" Fein - PDGA #4031

2006 Mens Pro Legend World Champion - Augusta GA

Last year when I was inducted to the Pa. Disc Golf Hall of Fame in its 1st year .

( pdga world champions being the criteria so as to eliminate any subjectivity )

I was asked to submit my bio. I felt awkward . I truly didn't want to .
I was greatful for the honor , however , I would rather be remembered for other reasons . I also know that most of you only know me thru fb . At some tourneys .

A clown at heart , so I'm ready to tell my story .

I 1st saw Frisbee golf in 1977 . I fell in love with the sport even tho I was never really very good ( all who have played w/ me would attest. ) in 1977 .
My home course is Sedgley Woods , Phila. Pa. I helped carve it out along w/the Phila. Frisbee Club .( I was a peon doing what I was told. It was the 1st chain course on the east coast . Other than tourneys , it was hardly used .
By 1983 when the 1st golf discs were introduced , I would hang after playing & have a few beers & keep my vigil while others played . Offering a beer to out of staters . Most people attribute buying their 1 st golf disc from me . In the 80s I bought baskets for 5 or 6 courses . I owned 2 baskets that I lent out to tds for their tourneys.
I was sited by the city of Phila . For helping to preserve Sedgley as it is In tough part of Phila . This was in the 90s .
I , to this day , try to help newbees w/the right. Wt. & rim. I'm always trying to help w/ their heads. ( if U can play a bad round & still have a good time , ur game will improve.
I own enough t's &hats to open a chain of stores in support of our sport.

I give light Weight discs to kids & newbees .
I could have a pdga # under 200 , cuz if I were a pro, it wud lower the standards.
I'm gonna stop now , cuz any more might sound like I'm bragging. But I would rather be remembered for this than for a lucky week of golf.
Sincerely ---- Paul "old goat " Fein
